CER specialists conducted a survey on socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan

Following the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-3437 dated December 18, 2017 "On the introduction of a new procedures for the formation and financing of state development programs of the Republic of Uzbekistan," specialists from the Center for Economic Research had a business trip to the Republic of Karakalpakstan between the perios of June 21-26 to collect data for the formation of social economic base of the region.

The main aim of these studies was the identification of factors and barriers that hinder the investment attractiveness of the region, including a comprehensive vision for the implementation of priority areas of socio-economic development.

Within the framework of the trip, specialts of CER visited 7 regions of the republic, including Nukus, Takhiatash, Khodjeyli, Ellikkalinsky, where in addition to collecting data at the district level, in-depth interviews and sureveys with representatives of the state officials were conducted. Surveys were conducted on the social and economic development of the region, including questions on the real and social sector, in order to analyze the current state of the regions and identifying the basic needs of this area.

Specialists also visited the industrial zones of the districts, trips were made to empty and inactive enterprises to identify the potential for the development of the region and real possibilities of attracting investments taking into account the interests of potential investors.
