Reception of the mission of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in CER

On  February 13, 2018 at the Center for Economic Research Director of CER, Sh. Nazarov met with the representatives of the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

During the meeting, issues of implementing a balanced macroeconomic and active structural policy in the Republic were discussed, Uzbekistan's achievements in ensuring sustainable growth and macroeconomic balance, improving the business climate, protecting the interests of private entrepreneurship and small business, attracting foreign investment in the national economy were mentioned, directions for further development and changes in the structural appearance of industry towards the formation of an innovation-oriented industrial structure of industrial production, as well as other topical issues of the country's development were examined.

It was also noted that the most important priority is to further strengthen macroeconomic stability and maintain high rates of economic growth, including the balance of the state budget at all levels, the stability of the national currency and the level of prices in the domestic market.

Within the framework of the bilateral meeting, such topics as the development of entrepreneurship, stimulating the social sphere, diversifying industry in the context of the globalization of economic relations, as well as the development of individual industries and the creation of free economic zones for the production of pharmaceutical products and medicines on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan were touched upon.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in exchanging the necessary information and conducting joint research between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Center for Economic Research.
