CER held meetings with international observers of elections of the President of Uzbekistan

On December 5, 2016, director of CER held a meeting with Vice-Rector of the Baltic International Academy, Inna Stetsenko, who visited Uzbekistan as an international observer at the last elections of the President of Uzbekistan.

Director of CER, Sharofiddin Nazarov, informed the guest about the activities of the Center for Economic Research, elaborated on the process of formation of research themes, described the methodology for their selection and approval of the structure of the Coordination Council of CER, and also mentioned the projects for the development of mutual cooperation between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Inna Stetsenko offered to cooperate in the research and educational projects and told about the history, structure, activities, goals and projects of the Baltic International Academy. She also referred to the changes that have occurred recently in the Republic of Latvia, addressed issues relating to the export of agricultural products, the impact of the global financial crisis on the investment climate in "the euro zone" countries, and noted a number of socio-demographic problems of the Republic of Latvia. 

During the meeting the parties were able to identify and highlight the main areas for collaborative research between the Baltic International Academy and  ER. Also, the sides discussed future development of mutual cooperation in their research activities.
